Saddle Up Anyway

Every meaningful endeavor comes with fear baked in. Courage isn't the absence of it. It's moving forward when your gut says turn back. You earn credibility by acting when others freeze. We don't wait to feel ready.

All ten principles

On this code

Where this came from.

A code is not a list of values. Values are aspirational. A code is something you hold yourself to when no one is watching and the situation makes it hard. These ten principles are distilled from two decades of watching what leadership actually looks like under pressure, in boardrooms and living rooms, in transitions and turnarounds, in the moments when the map runs out.

They are not Changegoat’s principles. They belong to anyone doing serious work in serious times. If you find them useful, print them out. Put them somewhere you’ll see them when the day gets hard. That is what they are for.
